Both are mulmul cotton. The filling is what changes. A dohar is layers of mulmul stitched together — light, airy, and breathable. It's what you want for summers, AC rooms, and most of the year in an Indian home. A quilt is cotton-filled, so it's thicker and warmer. Pick this one for actual winter nights. If you're buying for a child and can only pick one, the dohar gets used far more months of the year.

First time, Hand-wash separately in cold water, thereafter machine wash with mild liquid detergent in cold water in delicate mode.
Do not use bleach.
